Hair that kinks, coils, curls, waves, and tells a story reflecting their culture, race, ethnicity, and upbringing. Like our customers, hair comes in all shades, textures and shapes unique to each individual and here at Mixed Chicks we want to celebrate that to the utmost extent. Meet our exquisite Mixed Chicks women, men, and children who exhibit beauty from the root and give us honest, bold stories that we are honored to share with you.
What has been my experience with Mixed Chicks products?
I have had nothing but amazing results in using the entire line of Mixed Chicks. My hair is alive and strong in a way it’s never been before. There’s a reason why I made Mixed Chicks one of the first few posts after I launched my blog, Just Peachy.
What makes mixed chicks different than other hair/ beauty products that I have tried in the past?
I tend to over-saturate my hair with product because I don’t dare miss one strand, and no matter how much Mixed Chicks I put in I’m never left with crunchy, flat, or flaky hair. This is so important for the girls who have thick/full hair.
Do you have a go-to or token mixed chick product that you cannot go without?
If I had to narrow it down, I would say I can’t be separated with the Leave-In Conditioner. It works wonders for me, but I also love the Replenishing Oil. Ahh! I need it all, really.
How has having a product specifically for your biracial/ethnic/multiracial background impacted your beauty regime?
Finding a product that’s made for my type of hair has drastically lowered my frustrations in trying to get my hair to cooperate. Mixed Chicks understands my hair and I can simply apply the product and live my damn life! No fuss, no stress, it’s easy!
How do your curls/hair texture represent your cultural/ethnic background?
I’m mixed with two ethnicities and those 2 hair types have merged into a beautiful mess on my head lol. My mother’s Salvadorian hair and my father’s Eritrean hair have one thing in common, volume. Both sides have given my hair volume and body and I never want to be without it!
What is one feature of the mixed chicks brand that empowers your hair/beauty care?
I love that the styling product is a conditioner. My hair is always thirsty, so giving it a product that not only controls frizz, but conditions it at the same time is magic for me. It keeps my hair hydrated and as a result I have less breakage and that means stronger hair!
If you could define your hair story in one word what would it be?
Unbelievable! I’m grateful I found Mixed Chicks not only for the products, but they encourage us to love the hair we have. We are all so unique and that’s something to be celebrated.
Why is the hair revolution celebrating natural/ hair types vital for our generation?
We live in a society where we’re brain washed and lead to believe we’re suppose to look a certain way. It’s terrifying because the younger generations are exposed to social media at a young age and it’s all they see. These young people need role models/parents/friends they can look up to in hopes they embrace their own unique beauty and carry on the curly revolution.
If your Mixed Chicks story were a song..what would it be?
Indie Arie- I Am Not My Hair, Jill Scott- Golden, Kanye West- Touch The Sky. (Great question!)
Do you have any go to beauty hair bloggers?
I have a blog called Just Peachy, and it’s all about me sharing the things I love with you. Authenticity is very important to me and my posts will always come from the heart. If I inspire even person out there, I am happy. =) I truly admire Winnie Harlow. She is such a unique beauty and her confidence is inspiring. You go, girl!
