Meet our exquisite Mixed Chicks women, men, and children who exhibit beauty from the root and give us honest, bold stories that we are honored to share with you.
What has your experience been with the Mixed Chicks products? Easy, simple, quick
What makes them different than other hair/beauty products you tried in the past? I don’t have to mix a lot of products together in order to give my curls what they need.
Do you have a go-to or token Mixed Chick Product you cannot go without? Deep conditioner for me cause of the great hold and its light weight lasts through the day. For my daughter the leave in conditioner for kids.
How has having a product specifically for your biracial/ethnic/multiracial background impacted your beauty regime? I have been struggling for years on what to do with my hair. Trying to get out of the uncomfortable and awkward stage it has made me feel. From being mixed and everyone looking and trying to figure out what you are and feeling like my hair was giving them even more of a reason to look at me… But for all of the wrong reasons. I have just about used and tried every remedies or products you have heard of but, it was either just too harsh on my hair or it weighed it down it was never just the right combo.
How do your curls/hair texture represent your cultural/ethnic background? My hair represents both my father’s (African American) and my mother’s (Caucasian) families. From the simple things and being able to have the best of both worlds straight or curly. The straight from my mother’s side to my dad’s side being a curly fro, thick like the blood that flows through my veins.
What is one feature of the Mixed Chicks brand that empowers your hair/beauty care? Empowers me to be unique and want to be the one who stand out for being the girl with the big beautiful curly hair.
If you could define Your Hair Story in one word what would it be? WILD ?
Why is the hair revolution celebrating natural/healthy hair types vital for our generation? It’s vital for our generation because we have been taught that we need to look or be a certain way in order to be “beautiful”. From the images we see on TV, magazines, books, social media from having hair care products for our ethnicity in a separate section in the stores. Not only separating us But if we as a generation stand together empower on another that we are beautiful and show them that it is not the only type of beautiful you can be. Everyone is beautiful we are all unique and that’s what actually makes us.
If your ‘Mixed Chick’ story were a song, what would it be? Powerful Featuring Alicia Keys & Jussie Smollett
