Hair that kinks, coils, curls, waves, and tells a story reflecting their culture, race, ethnicity, and upbringing. Like our customers, hair comes in all shades, textures and shapes unique to each individual and here at Mixed Chicks we want to celebrate that to the utmost extent. Meet our exquisite Mixed Chicks women, men, and children who exhibit beauty from the root and give us honest, bold stories that we are honored to share with you.
What has your experience been with the Mixed Chicks products? Honestly, my experience with Mixed Chicks has been a success. Every product I used prior to Mixed Chicks was okay. But nothing really made my hair POP. Then my sister in law recommended Mixed Chicks’ leave-in conditioner. Major difference!! My hair started to fall down, my curls became more defined. And for the first time, I was happy with how my hair looked. Shoot, I need more products by Mixed Chicks!
What makes them different than other hair/beauty products you tried in the past? This product is widely known in the curly hair community. I ask curly hair enthusiasts about the brand, and they have nothing but good things to say about it. From what I’ve noticed, Mixed Chicks actually cares about their consumers’ hair. I can’t name another brand that has a relationship with customers on social media. That’s actually pretty dope.
Do you have a Go-To or token Mixed Chick Product you cannot go without? At the moment, I only use the leave in conditioner. I use it on a daily basis; and can’t go without it. I’m looking forward to trying out their other products!
How has having a product specifically for your cultural/biracial/ethnic/multiracial background impacted your beauty regime? No matter where your roots come from (pun intended haha), us curly hair folks need a product specifically for us! Ever since I found out about Mixed Chicks, I’ve noticed we have a community. It’s amazing to see how much other people care about their hair too. Your hair is like a crown which you always wear.
How do your curls/hair texture represent your cultural/ethnic background? My hair is an obvious representation of my cultural background. My roots derive from the Dominican Republic, Spain, Africa, and more. My relatives, ancestors have/had curls. I proudly show my curls!!
If you could define Your Hair Story in one word what would it be? Journey. My hair story is a journey! My hair is with me for life. People always ask me, “how long are you growing it?” I say, LONG!! Hahah, I love my hair. I’m looking forward to the day when it will be an awesome length. I have to start trimming my hair too, ahhhh. Slowly but surely I’ll be implementing other Mixed Chicks products into my regimen.
Why is the hair revolution celebrating natural/healthy hair types vital for our generation? The hair revolution celebrating natural, healthy hair types is vital for our generation!! We are the trend setters believe it or not. We set the tone/bar for the following generation. We should take pride in having natural/healthy hair. It’s a beautiful trait. Get with the wave!
If your ‘Mixed Chick’ story were a song, what would it be? Haha the song to my Mixed Chick story would be, Happy by Pharrell Williams. That’s actually one of my favorite songs; it’s upbeat & positive. I’m thankful to have a head full of natural, healthy curls. It’s truly a blessing. Its the little things like that which can mean a lot.
