Do you have a go-to or token Mixed Chick Product you cannot go without?
My go to Mixed Chick Product has been both the Curl Sculptor and Styling Gel. I love to combine both of the products to style my hair because it gives me great definition and shine.
How has having a product specifically for your cultural/biracial/ethnic/multiracial background impacted your beauty regime?
The products feel like they have been specifically made for my hair type and it has allowed my curls to flourish. I love that my curls stay defined for up to 5 days which gives me a break from having to style my hair as often as I normally would have to using other products.
Do you use any other Mixed Chicks products as part of your beauty routine?
I have only used the Mixed Chicks deep conditioner in the past and I loved how hydrated my curls were after using it.
What new 2017 Mixed Chicks product are you interested in trying out?
I would love to try the Coil Kink & Curl Styling Cream and the Conditioning Co-Wash.
How do your curls/hair texture represent your cultural/ethnic background?
Curls are huge part of my cultural and ethnic background. My family is from Dominican Republic and being that our genes come from a mixture of African, European and indigenous primarily my curly hair represents the wonderful mixture of our background.
What is one feature of the Mixed Chicks brand that empowers your hair/beauty care?
One main feature of the Mixed Chicks brand that empowers my hair is that I know that I using products that actually work for my hair type. I have struggled many years in finding the right products for me and finally having a brand that what basically made for my hair makes me feel proud!
Why is the hair revolution celebrating natural/healthy hair types vital for our generation?
For many years we have been told that our natural hair is “bad” hair or hair that needs to be tamed by relaxers or flat irons, now we have the opportunity to celebrate and embrace our natural hair and beauty the way that it was meant to be and pass it down to young generations so that they too can love themselves and their hair just the way that it grows.
Is there a (Mixed/Multiracial/Bi-racial) celebrity who empowers you?
One biracial celebrity that empowers me is Alicia Keys because she is not afraid to be confident and show her natural beauty to the world. I love that she is setting an example for many young women around the world that you do not have go by society’s standard of beauty and she shows that beauty comes in so many different forms.
Do you have any go-to beauty/hair bloggers or vloggers who inspire or help your hairstyles?
One of my go to beauty/hair vloggers is SunKissAlba. I love how she incorporates natural and organic ingredients to her beauty routines. I aspire to educate others about avoiding toxic ingredients and showing them that you can create a beauty regime without harming yourself with toxic chemicals.
