Ashley

What does “Mixed, Multiracial or Bi-racial) mean to you in 2017?

Being Multiracial means I have the best of both worlds. I get to have two amazing parents from different cultures and it makes me see the world differently

Do you have a go-to or token Mixed Chick Product you cannot go without?

My Go-To is the Leave-in Conditioner Mixed Chick Product. This product is simply amazing; my hair feels so lightweight after using it and my curls comes out so beautiful.

How has having a product specifically for your cultural/biracial/ethnic/multiracial background impacted your beauty regime?

It has impacted my beauty regime because I now have a product created for my hair type. It is a product that is made to define my curls.

Do you use any other Mixed Chicks products as part of your beauty routine?

I use the shampoo and the deep conditioner.

What new 2017 Mixed Chicks product are you interested in trying out?

I am interested in trying the curl sculptor. I would like to see how it defines my curls and what type of definition it will give me.

How do your curls/hair texture represent your cultural/ethnic background?

My hair texture represents my cultural background because it is a representation of my race. My hair is big, curly and frizzy which is a representation of my African American side my hair also has a natural shine and smooth feel and that is a representation of my Bangladesh side.

What is one feature of the Mixed Chicks brand that empowers your hair/beauty care?

One feature of the Mixed Chicks brand that empowers my hair is the want of being different. This is the first product that I am aware of that is for us mixed girls. We needed a product for us, a product that will cater our hair needs.

Why is the hair revolution celebrating natural/healthy hair types vital for our generation?

It is important to celebrate natural hair types because it is important for people to embrace their hair texture. No matter what society tells you, you should love yourself and embrace your natural beauty.

Is there a (Mixed/Multiracial/Bi-racial) celebrity who empowers you?

Alicia Keys empowers me, I love how she wears her natural hair and how she embraces it.

Do you have any go-to beauty/hair bloggers or vloggers who inspire or help your hairstyles?

My go-to-beauty blogger is MOKNOWSHAIR. If it wasn’t for her I would have never started my hair journey. I came across her hair videos almost two years ago and I saw her hair and I thought it was amazing, I wanted my curls to look like hers so I started watching all of her videos and decided to buy the product she used which was actually mixed chicks leave-in-conditioner.
