What does being (“Mixed, Multiracial or Bi-racial) mean to you in 2017?
Being mixed to me means embracing all aspects of what makes you unique! Not feeling like you have to be boxed into a category or what society would like you to be!
Do you have a Go-To or token Mixed Chick Product you cannot go without?
My go to Mixed chicks product is the Deep Conditioner, it saved my natural hair journey! It was one of the very first products I was introduced to when I was transitioning and it truly help me to not revert back to a relaxer! It helped me to be able to manage my thick hair texture while I was away at school!
How has having a product specifically for your cultural/biracial/ethnic/multiracial background impacted your beauty regime?
Having products specific to my ethnic background has truly helped me to appreciate my hair more and embrace how different it is! Yes, my hair is big and wild and yes I love it! These products have made my regime easier and in turn, made me appreciate the hair I was given.
How do your curls/hair texture represent your cultural/ethnic background?
My hair texture very much represents my ethnic background. Being of an African American and Hispanic descent, my hair texture differs in certain areas of my head, making it very unique and true to every ounce of ethnic blood that runs through my body, I love it!
What is one feature of the Mixed Chicks brand that empowers your hair/beauty care?
One feature of the Mixed chicks brand that empowers my hair is how this particular brand reaches different ethnic backgrounds. Whether you have hair in the 2c/3a family of 3c/4 family, Mixed Chicks products are more than helpful!
Why is the hair revolution celebrating natural/healthy hair types vital for our generation?
The hair revolution celebrating natural hair types is vital for my generation because this generation needs to see the beautiful that comes from all walks of life. Beauty isn’t cookie cutter or specific, it’s diverse and unique and everyone needs to see that and embrace it!
What’s your Go-To summer hairstyle?
My go to summer hairstyle is a wash n go! With humidity and the heat, I do not like to spend my time of a particular style only for me to sweat it out! A wash and go is simple and works well with frizz!
