Welcome to the Your Hair Story Series presented by Mixed Chicks. This dynamic, new innovative series allows Mixed Chicks users to share their personal stories behind their hair. What does being (“Mixed”/ Multiracial/Bi-racial/ a Minority) mean to you in
2017?
Having a bi-racial child means she is able to experience the best of both worlds. She was blessed with unique features and an amazing set of beautiful, bouncy curls.
Who inspires your beauty routine? How does it incorporate into your
personal style?
Nola’s routine is inspired by Solange. Like Solange, Nola is a free and warm spirit who sets her own trends and wears her hair to fit her mood.
Why is your go-to Mixed Chicks product essential for your hair regime?
Our go to Mixed Chick product is the Leave-In Conditioner. We comb it in during bath time and it allows her hair to be soft and frizz free without losing the bounce that her curls naturally have.
How do your curls/hair texture represent your cultural/ethnic
background?
Her hair is a perfect mix of mom’s softness and dad’s curl.
What is one feature of the Mixed Chicks brand that empowers your hair/beauty care?
As a mother (with straight hair) of children with curly hair, I was unsure of how to properly care for their hair. The fact that Mixed Chicks in an inclusive company has allowed me to feel comfortable and confident to use their products and seek help when I needed it. Mixed Chicks has helped us redefine her curls!
Do you have any go-to beauty/hair bloggers or vloggers who inspire or help your hairstyles?
We are excited to try the curly girl method. Teaching her the best way to care for her hair now will help her learn to love and appreciate her hair in the future.
