I’m african amercian and it took me forever to find a product that actually curls my hair. At first I did try Mixed Chicks the adult version some reason it left my hair extremely dry and brittle, I’m not sure whats the difference between the kids version or the adults but the kids version actually worked in my hair, my hair isn’t dry at all, and now my hair has curls(super curly and tight) the way i want, the only downside is that my curls frizzes up after a day or so… I used the product as instructed and let it air dry. the only thing I did different was detangle it with a leave in detangling product my Aunt Jackie (took about an hour or so, combed my hair out in sections) but after that i applied the mixed chicks shampoo, I only did it once before I conditioning shampoo in, worked it through hair for a bit, did not comb it because it was already curling up ( I advise not to comb unless you didn’t detangle before putting the product in) after that I washed it out and left it to air dry as instructed although I did had about two or three drops of Jojoba oil (Only because its a loose oil so that i can had a little shine and lock in the moisture) Overall I do like this product and will buy the a bottle of the kids product also it would be nice if the kids line was available in stores.

Hello, my name is Christal. I have an almost 3yr old little girl who is part Hispanic and part African-American. Since my daughter was about a year old, I began the hunt that seemed to be never ending! It’s literally been product after product and I have wasted so much MONEY! There were even times when I would buy a product and only use it a few days and got so fed up that I would go buy something else or I would find products that would work for about a month or two then dry up her hair. My daughter has not used a kids line of products since she was about 14months old. I just recently tried a product called Kinky Curly that did a good job and I found it at Target, it was actually on the shelve right next to this product. I tried that and it worked until I ran out. When I went back to Target (which is the only store I have found that sells that product and yours) I decided to give Mixed Chicks a try and OMG, I was AMAZED! This was the first time that I had been able to run my fingers through my daughters hair since her hair turned curly. I think the only thing that I am disappointed with is the fact that my daughter has been using this product for about a month and her hair looks nothing like the pictures. Some of her curls are starting to tighten and appear to be more defined and her hair is so soft but her hair is still pretty frizzy. The only line that they carry in Target is the adult line and I did not even know that y’all carried a kids line and I don’t know if that has anything to do with it but I just don’t know what to do anymore. Any advice on which products I should try or what I should do?

My girl is mixed with curly curly hair that is very soft textured, and A LOT of it. We tried for years to find something that wasn’t heavy, or greasy, or make her hair feel really gross. Mixed chicks from the start made her hair managable. It wasn’t going sixteen differnt ways any more and it is softer and stays put!!! I love mixed chicks!

I decided to purchase this product due to the fact my daughter has a few blood lines running through her which is cherokee indian/Irish/jamaican thus gives her a wavy curly effect she has mid shoulder blade hair or should I say did. Ahhhh so disappointed (it didn’t even look like her hair)…poor thing, this is obviously not the one for her, however the adult line did work for her grandmother whom she gets the Irish descent from oh and we are african american.

I brought this product for my son who is black/white. I was really tired of his hair looking frizzy and not knowing what to do with it. Ive tried other products so I was a little hesitant. I purchased the sample pack and I was amazed. His hair looked awesome! The frizz was gone, it was easy to comb, and the product really smelled nice. In the morning when he woke up his hair still looked the same other than the part he slept on but I just wet his hair and applied the leave in conditioner and it was looking great again! I just wish the sample pack contained the tangle tamer. I will be purchashing the the larger sizes of the products. I am thinking about purchasing a sample pack to try in my hair. okay lets start with say my doughter has very curly to wavy hair * what the product does to the hair is maintain the curls stop the frizz which cause it to dry curly and not so afro-kinky stly.. but what I didn’t like about the shampoo was it seems her hair was being striped from it natural texture it caused the hair to feel stringy which was very werid so I wouldn’t use that again on her hair, so I only order the conditioner and the leave In condition And I will use that with the Dove shampoo because it leaves her hair soft and moisture! over all this product is not really for a course type of curly hair but it would work better on a finner strand of curly hair….

I was hesitant to spend a great deal on hair products without trying them out first. I have a beautiful, biracial, two year old princess with 3C very curly hair. Her hair was dry looking and very frizzy and her curls were not what I would call defined. The dry look probably bothered me the most. Well, I ordered this sample pack and tried it out the day after I received it. I was leery and even though the shampoo smelled amazing, like fresh oranges, and her the conditioner made it super easy to detangle her hair, and it looked moist, I held out on making a decision on buying the product until I knew it would remain that way. I put her down for a nap while still having damp hair and when she woke up hours later with her hair dry, but still looking moist, with shiny, defined curls, I was in love. I have already purchased my Kids Gift Basket and can’t wait to receive it.

I bought this for my 1 year old because his hair is frizzy when he wakes up in the morning. He has curly hair but not really tight curls, but curly. I washed it, deep conditioned it and used the leave in conditioner, but by morning his hair was frizzy and the curls weren’t defined. I am glad I didn’t buy larger sizes or I would have definitely been disappointed. Back to the drawing board….

I’ve struggled with my very white daughter’s kinky curls since her hair came in. It would look good for a couple hours after a bath, but it was hopeless if slept on and always ended up in a frizzy mat at the back of her head. Friends have recommended various products designed for black hair, but they were always too heavy for hers. I am in love with this, thank you sooooo much Mixed Chicks. I have a 4 yr old daughter who hates the shower and me combing her hair and washing but with this product I don’t have as much yelling and screaming as before her hair is soft and no frizz. I can actually run my fingers thru her curls without getting stuck. I did get the kids combo pack and the other day I decided to try on my straight hair. I have so many allergies to normal hair care that this was wonderful in mine as well. I am now thinking of getting the women’s product for myself. My Daughter Has curly hair this product ealy does work her hair stays soft and untouchable for abot 4 days she doesnt, personaly need detangler cause of me knowing how her hair i so alway know ur kids hair this pdut does the trick and it is easy to use as 123 no probes usaly i hve some lft over it is very consintrated especaily the wash out conditioner u dont realy need much only tingi wish it was easyer to open case itgt messy if u open it the wrong way esides that it is all worth the price im buying more my daugt is a MIXECHIC ;.d

We have tried over 30 products from cheap to expensive on our mixed daughter’s hair, and NO two mixed children are the same – EVEN SIBLINGS! This was a great way to not waste money on a full bottle of bogus product you may or may not like! for [$] you can’t go wrong but……WE DID LIKE! in fact WE LOVED THIS PRODUCT! my daughter cried less when we combed it, and held her curl the next day SO much better than other products.
