Meet our exquisite Mixed Chicks women, men, and children who exhibit beauty from the root and give us honest, bold stories that we are honored to share with you.
What does “Mixed, Multiracial or Bi-racial) mean to you in 2017?
In 2017 I see being multiple races as a beautiful thing because one can appreciate every single race. Also, understand that it doesn’t matter what race you come from but every single race is beautiful and we are all the same! We are all strong, successful and POWERFUL!
Do you have a go-to or token Mixed Chick Product you cannot go without?
My go to Mixed Chick product I cannot go without is the Leave-In Conditioner! This product is my holy grail! I usually use it when I’m doing my wash and go. This Leave-In leaves my hair feeling soft and smelling amazing! While using this product, it keeps my hair super moisturized and frizz free!
How has having a product specifically for your cultural/biracial/ethnic/multiracial background impacted your beauty regime?
Having a product specifically for my ethnicity has impacted my beauty regime is such a big way! Growing up none of my friends had the same texture hair as me. I wouldn’t understand why the products they use would leave their hair feeling and looking amazing. But when I used it my hair would feel extremely dry and not having the same results. I started to hate my hair and wish I never had hair like this until my aunt told me to start using mix chicks! Mixed Chicks changed my life drastically and allowed me to feel confident in myself! I finally could walk with my head up, hair down, and feeling beautiful and proud to have my hair
Do you use any other Mixed Chicks products as part of your beauty routine?
As part of my curly hair routine I also use the Deep Conditioner Leave-In treatment.
What new 2017 Mixed Chicks product are you interested in trying out?
I am interested in trying the straightening serum, gloss and shining hair silk, styling gel, edge tamer and curl sculptor.
How do your curls/hair texture represent your cultural/ethnic background?
My curls/hair texture don’t represent my cultural/ethnic background! My curls represent me, and they make me who I am!
What is one feature of the Mixed Chicks brand that empowers your hair/beauty care?
The fact that they work and it does what it says!
Why is the hair revolution celebrating natural/healthy hair types vital for our generation?
Celebrating all natural hair types is vital for our generation but also any beauty because social media is taking over and making people feel they must be something they aren’t. This generation is the generation where we can speak out and stand for one another!
Is there a (Mixed/Multiracial/Bi-racial) celebrity who empowers you?
Zendaya empowers me a lot! I love the fact we’re close in age because we can relate more! I love that fact she doesn’t care what people think or even care if she isn’t slaying at that moment because she knows she can slay when its time! She can be herself and not care!
Do you have any go-to beauty/hair bloggers or vloggers who inspire or help your hairstyles?
I have my own YouTube channel “Lyss Brady “that I just started and I’m super excited for my channel! I can’t wait to do videos on curly hair tutorials and demonstrating to young females they can be confident in their curls! They can do so much more hairstyles than any other hair type! They need to love their curls and show them off!
