Welcome to the Your Hair Story Series presented by Mixed Chicks. This dynamic, new innovative series allows Mixed Chicks users to share their personal stories behind their hair. Hair that kinks, coils, curls, waves, and tells a story reflecting their culture, race, ethnicity, and upbringing. What does being mixed/ bi-racial mean to you in 2017?
As the mother of my child I want to teach her the importance of where she comes from. That being every side of her heritage and culture. I want her to understand the concept of acceptance in ALL forms and embrace herself and others for being different.
Who inspires your beauty routine?
I don’t have a specific person, I like to try new things and let Adelynn embrace her curls and ask her how she wants to wear her hair from day to day. I guess I will let her decide that for herself.
Why is your go to mixed chicks product essential for your hair regime?
I almost want to take a pic of our bathroom cabinet. lol I have literally bought every product under the sun! Some work better than others, but NOTHING has come close to the way this softens, relaxes, and transforms her curls! I will SWEAR by this product.
How do your curls represent your cultural ethnic background?
I believe your hair tells a story of where you’ve been and where your going! Ethnic hair is the most difficult to maintain, but it will stand out the most! Represent and let those curls bounce!
What hair care trend are you excited to try this season?
Now that I’ve fallen away from her signature go-to puff ball pig tails the sky’s the limit! I’m excited to try them all!
