What has your experience been with the Mixed Chicks products?

I discovered Mixed Chicks in high school by a hairdresser. She washed and conditioned my hair using Mixed Chick products and recommended I use the Leave-In conditioner for styling. I tried it and have been hooked ever since! Mixed Chick products have drastically transformed my hair to soft, shiny, easy manageable curls!

What makes them different than other hair/beauty products you tried in the past?

The products I have tried in the past to manage my hair usually either left my hair dry and frizzy, or stiff and flaky from gel products. Mixed Chicks Leave-In Conditioner is able to detangle your hair, leaving it soft and moisturized, with the same shine you would get from a gel.

Do you have a Go-To or token Mixed Chick Product you cannot go without?

The Go-To Mixed Chick Product I cannot go without is definitely the Leave-In Conditioner. From the first day I’ve tried this product up to the present day, it has been a staple product in my beauty regime.

How has having a product specifically for your biracial/ethnic/multiracial background impacted your beauty regime?

My beauty regime has become fun and convenient ever since I started using products designed for my curly hair. The products work effortlessly in my hair, which makes the experience of managing my hair so much easier. It also leaves my hair healthy, shiny and soft. It has helped me embrace and love my curly hair!

How do your curls/hair texture represent your cultural/ethnic background?

My curls and hair texture are a direct representation of a mixture between my mother and fathers ethnic background. My hair is long and curly but on the thinner side. I have to fluff out my hair a lot to get its volume! My mother is both Finnish and Kittitian, and my father is Jamaican. I am a mixture of both my Mother’s long straight hair and my Father’s short curls.

What is one feature of the Mixed Chicks brand that empowers your hair/beauty care?

One feature of the Mixed Chicks brand that empowers my hair and beauty care is the fact that is an inclusive brand, embracing and accepting of all varying cultures and races. I love that I can support a brand that supports unity.

If you could define Your Hair Story in one word what would it be?

Unruly.

Why is the hair revolution celebrating natural/healthy hair types vital for our generation?

I believe that celebrating natural/healthy hair types is extremely vital for our generation because mainstream media has historically been portraying unrealistic beauty ideals that people feel they need to live up to. I feel like having a hair revolution that embraces our uniqueness and natural beauty will help send the message to others to love and accept themselves unconditionally.

If your ‘Mixed Chick’ story were a song, what would it be?

“Flawless”-Beyonce

Do you have any go-to beauty/hair bloggers or vloggers who inspire or help your hairstyles? (If you are a blogger/vlogger please feel free to share information on your page/brand)

When I first started learning to take care of my hair using Mixed Chicks products, ShamelessMaya helped me with styling my hair! Itsmyrayeraye and LipsticknCurls also are beauty/hair bloggers that have inspired me to explore different products and styles for my hair, along with beauty blogging! I am currently developing my Youtube Channel that will incorporate make up and hair tutorials, along with a wellness component that focuses on inspiring others to become the greatest version of themselves!
