What does being (“Mixed”/ Multiracial/Bi-racial/ a Minority) mean to you in 2017?
It makes me who I am. I love seeing the reaction when I tell people I am half Polish, half Jamaican and born and raised in the UK. I love being unique and love meeting other mixed people!
Who inspires your beauty routine? How does it incorporate into your personal style?
I get inspiration from trending topics; I love to try out new beauty fads. As for my personal style I love to take inspiration from celebrities like Beyoncé and Rihanna and tone them down or adapt them to my style or budget.
Why is your go-to Mixed Chicks product essential for your hair regime?
The Mixed Chicks Leave-In Conditioner is essential for my hair regime, if I don’t use it after towel drying my hair, my hair will look dry, the curls won’t be as defined and I won’t be able to style it how I want to.
How do your curls/hair texture represent your cultural/ethnic background?
I represent Jamaica in gymnastics and my blonde curly hair definitely embodies the fun island vibe that Jamaica has to offer.
What is one feature of the Mixed Chicks brand that empowers your hair/beauty care?
The fact that it is aimed at “mixed chicks” which is a rarity. In the cosmetic world it is hard to find make up, beauty and hair products for a woman of mixed heritage so to find mixed chicks products developed especially for my hair type makes me feel empowered and part of a community.
Which haircare trend are you excited to try this season?
I have only diffused my curls once so I think I might give that a go and get a bigger bouncier look to my hair. Hopefully the extra volume will help keep me warm during the colder months coming up!
What has been your favorite new Mixed Chicks product out this year?
Coil, Kinks & Waves Styling Cream has become a favorite of mine, I use it to define a few curls on the outer layer if my hair is down.
