What does being (“Mixed”/ Multiracial/Bi-racial/ a Minority) mean to you in 2017?
I live in Los Angeles, and I have friends from just about every ethnicity and several who like me are of African descent and Filipina. When I have traveled to other places, like out of state where people are not as use to seeing mixed people, I almost feel like I have to explain what my mix is and sometimes even talk about cultures.
Who inspires your beauty routine? How does it incorporate into your personal style?
I really like Zendaya and I like how she styles her hair when it is natural. Whenever I see her with a style I like, I definently try it out.
Why is your go-to Mixed Chicks product essential for your hair regime?
By far it is the Kids Tangle Tamer. My hair gets frizzy by the end of the day with the humidity of LA, this product keeps my hair relaxed!
How do your curls/hair texture represent your cultural/ethnic background?
My hair texture is a perfect blend of my father and my mother’s ethnicities, it is not straight and it is not tightly curled. It can be tough some mornings if I wake up late and I don’t have time to create a super crazy and cool hairstyle, but it is the best.
What is one feature of the Mixed Chicks brand that empowers your hair/beauty care?
The fact that it is made for me and those who have hair similar to mine. Before I went to the store with my mom and we just bought whatever brand, having a brand that I know works for me is an awesome feeling.
Which haircare trend are you excited to try this season?
I do not really follow trends, but if I see a really cool style I am always open to seeing how it looks on me.
