Sadi

In 2018, do you feel the conversation around being (Multiracial/Biracial/Mixed) has shifted more positively or negatively?

I would definitely say the conversation around being biracial has grown positively. When I was younger ,I used to feel like being mixed wasn’t a good thing. I was always “ not black enough “ or “ not white enough”. It was hard to be confident about my identity because I had multiples. As an adult, and nowadays ….. I notice more and more people talking about how they are biracial and they are excited about finding their true ethnicity. Today, I have so much pride in being mixed and i am very passionate about representing biracial women.

How did you find out about Mixed Chicks?
I found out about Mixed Chicks , years ago from a family friend .
What is your go-to Mixed Chicks product essential for your hair regime?
My go to product is the Leave-In Conditioner. I always know my hair can use the extra moisture and i am always confident that will help with my frizz, strangle my hair and keep it bouncy .
How is your cultural/ethnic background reflected in your hair? (ex: texture, length, curl pattern, etc.)
I would say my hair definitely represents my mixed ethnicity. Just like my ethnicity, my hair is a little this and a little that. It is very curly, sometimes frizzy , thin but there is a lot of it. It takes on all these different forms depending on how it’s styled and what i use or the climate.
Our new campaign is focused on #itsminetodefine, What does this mean to you?
#itsminetodefine is such a powerful campaign. I’m my opinion, it means that if it belongs to me and is a part of me, then i and only i can decide what it represents. For example: my curly hair represents culture and confidence. It is big, it is beautiful , it is unique and irreplaceable…. it’s mine :)
What’s your favorite protective style?
My favorite protective product is the Hair Silk. It smells amazing, doesn’t leave he hair feeling sticky and leaves the best shine!

Sincerely,
