Khayla

What does “Mixed, Multiracial or Bi-racial) mean to you in 2017?

To me being mixed in 2017 means that I am unique and I am different from other individuals. I am more cultured and I get to be apart of different traditions that come with my race and I think that’s unique because not a lot of people can say that.

Do you have a go-to or token Mixed Chick Product you cannot go without?

One of my go-to products is the Mixed Chicks Deep Conditioner, whenever I feel my hair become dry or frizzy this conditioner relaxes it and shows more voluminous curls.

How has having a product specifically for your cultural/biracial/ethnic/multiracial background impacted your beauty regime?

Having a product like this makes having hair like this easier to handle because it is made specifically for your hair. The product will help with whatever problem you have and also the people part of this product understand the maintenance need for having “mixed” hair.

Do you use any other Mixed Chicks products as part of your beauty routine?

No, I currently use my Mixed Chicks Shampoo and Conditioner but I can’t wait to try new and different products.

What new 2017 Mixed Chicks product are you interested in trying out?

I’m very interested in trying the Detangler Deep Conditioner because it looks like it will help me with a lot of my hair tangled and relax my hair so they are easier to get out.

How do your curls/hair texture represent your cultural/ethnic background?

My curls represent my ethnic background because it kind of gives people a hint of what my ethnicity is.

What is one feature of the Mixed Chicks brand that empowers your hair/beauty care?

One feature that empowers my hair care is that I feel confident with my hair. My hair is calm and less frizzy and I don’t feel like it’s out of control where I am afraid to show it. I proudly wear my hair out and rock the style

Why is the hair revolution celebrating natural/healthy hair types vital for our generation?

It is vital to our generation because having ethnic hair is someonething to embrace since a lot of people do not have this type of hair. It also helps them feel more comfort in knowing that more of us have hair just like them and they are not alone.

Is there a (Mixed/Multiracial/Bi-racial) celebrity who empowers you?

A celebrity who empowers me is Imman Hammam because she is confident with her race and also her hair. She is a vogue model and I love that she embraces her ethnicity and shows it off because she is okay with who she is and not looking like other models on the industry. She always promotes positivity and self love and I think that is something every person should have.

Do you have any go-to beauty/hair bloggers or vloggers who inspire or help your hairstyles?

A blogger who inspires me is Andrea Brooks, she is on youtube  and gives some of the best and most helpful hairstyles and tips for Mixed Chicks. She gives advice on how one can help with frizz or even just everyday hairstyles when you have hard days dealing with curly hair.
